Everyone at Cambridge Carbonates would like to wish all our clients and friends a Happy New Year!!! Here’s to a happy, healthy and prosperous 2020.
In October this year, Jo Garland will be co-convening a Geol Soc conference on the Development and Production Geology of Carbonate Reservoirs. Please submit talk or poster abstracts to sarah.woodcock@geolsoc.org.uk by 29 February 2020. There will be two associated field trips, one of which will be led by Pete Gutteridge: The Carboniferous platforms of Derbyshire.
Jo was very happy to work with the SAFARI group, looking again at the Zechstein carbonates off the NE coast of England - with a drone!
Andy presented a paper entitled ‘Geology of the pre-salt in Mexico: which salt?' at the AAPG Hedberg Conference in Mexico City 4-6 February.
Jo was invited to St Alphege Infants School, Solihull to tell the 4 and 5 year olds all about being a geologist! Jo showed the children dinosaur teeth and claws, trilobites, ammonites and fossil wood. They each took home a small ammonite and fossil shark's tooth each as a gift. Inspiring our future generation of scientists!!
