Happy 60th birthday to Peter one of the co-founders of CCL.
This month saw National Science Week, and as part of our science outreach, Jo ran mini dinosaur and fossil workshops for the Reception classes at St Alphege Infants School! The kids had great fun identifying fossils and were each given an ammonite and fossils sharks tooth to take home..... let’s hope there are some new geologists in the making!
Andy will be taking part in the “Finding Petroleum Opportunities In The Middle East” meeting at the Geological Society in London on Tuesday 22nd May. Andy will talk about the Arabian Plate in the Cenomanian era (mid Cretaceous), looking at the massive Mishrif, Sarvak and Natih reservoirs (Iraq, Iran, Oman).
We will also have an exhibition stand where we can discuss carbonates! We hope to see you there!
On 27-28 June, CCL will be exhibiting at the PESGB/SEAPEX Asia-Pacific E&P Conference at Olympia, London. Our exhibition stand will be promoting our SE Asia carbonates report – see attached flyer. Please feel free to come by for a chat and healthy discussion on carbonates………… our stand is C18! See you there!
The FIFA World Cup Finals have arrived, and Cambridge Carbonates are celebrating with a sweepstake! With each member of staff pulling 3 teams out of the hat, it is a battle to see who will win the bottle of champagne! Good luck everyone!
Both Jo and Julia (and their daughters, Izzy and Jen!) took part in the 5km Race for Life in Solihull to raise money for Cancer Research. It was a beautiful day, and perfect conditions for running the 5km course. Thank you to everyone who sponsored Jo and Julia, raising money for this amazing cause.
Congratulations to Benoit for winning the World cup office sweepstake!
Benoit was lucky enough to pick his home country so well done to him!
A bottle of champagne awaits you in the office.
On October 24th 2018 Jo will be presenting (on behalf of colleagues at Cambridge Carbonates!) at the Geology of Fractured Reservoirs Conference at the Geol Soc in London. The 2-day conference programme looks very exciting, with all aspects of fractured reservoirs being discussed. Jo’s presentation is at 2pm – please see that attached abstract for more details. We look forward to seeing you there!
Yesterday we bid a sad farewell to Jen on her last day with us at Cambridge Carbonates. The ladies took her out for a lovely afternoon tea where we met Jen and her super adorable little one Robyn. Enjoyed cakes and lots of tea!
As a little something to remember us by we gifted Jen with a lovely ammonite necklace and two beautiful geode bookends which she loved.
We all wish Jen the very best in her future adventure!
