12th February 2016 Cambridge Carbonates Ltd.
23 years old today

Thanks to everyone; staff, clients, sub-contractors and students who have worked with us. Happy Birthday

It’s conference season!

Advanced Carbonate Geology - Kuala Lumpur

Pete presented as course on Advanced Carbonate Geology: application to SE Asia carbonate reservoirs. In Kuala Lumpur in April attended by delegates from Petronas and Talisman Vietnam. Thanks to Opus Kinetic who promoted and managed the course.

Bari, Italy 26-27 Apr

The “Exploring and Exploiting Carbonate Reservoirs” AAPG conference is being held in Bari, Italy on 26-27 April. Jo will be presenting a paper on “Review and Insights into the Carbonate Reservoirs of the circum-Adriatic” on behalf of several CC authors. Exploring and Exploiting Carbonate Reservoirs

New CCL Member!

We’d like to welcome our new member of staff Simon Higgins who recently joined us. We hope he settles in after living abroad for a while! Simon will be working full time on one of the main projects.

Further information about the conference can be found here:

2016 Dolomieu Conference

Pete and Julie attended the 2016 Dolomieu Conference which was held in the beautiful village of Selva di Val Gardena, Italy. They would like to thank the organisers Judith McKenzie and Maria Mutti for the excellent conference.

Pete and Julie joined a field trip to the Secada lead by Peter Brack. Peter Brack (ETH Zurich) explained the geological evolution of the dolomites and took the whole group to nice outcrops to observe the Pemian - Triassic sedimentary succession. The entire succession from synrift volcanics, red beds and lagoonal carbonates with gypsum intercalations at the foot of the mountains to the Latemar platform slope forming the peaks of the Secada is very well exposed.

FORCE Seminar Underexplored Plays - Part II

The conference was held at NPD, and it was especially targeted at challenging established truths and also reflect on some of the non-technical aspects of why an oil company is successful or not, such as risking processes and company strategies.

Pete gave a talk at the seminar in Stavanger on the Diagenetic systems and reservoir quality in the late Palaeozoic carbonates and spiculites from the Barents Shelf.
